Trip Planner: South America / Argentina / Capital Federal District / Buenos Aires / Coleccion de Arte Amalia Lacroze de Fortabat
Founded by one of Argentina's wealthiest women, Coleccion de Arte Amalia Lacroze de Fortabat exhibits lesser works of prominent artists, like a little-known Warhol portrait. The collection also includes pieces by Brueghel, Rodin, Klimt, Dali, Picasso, and Chagall. Arguably the most interesting feature of the steel, glass, and concrete building are the mobile aluminum panels above the glassy ceiling. The gallery founder requested the panels so that she could look at her paintings and gaze at the stars simultaneously. The views from the side gallery over the docks rival figurative works by Carlos Alonso and Juan Carlos Castagnino, featured in this gallery. You can see works by international artists, some Egyptian material, mosaics, etc. but I think the best thing for my opinion are the works of national artists of all time to the present day. The guide is done at 15 and 17 hs and is really very good, since you can interact with it without being a boring monologue. Worth visiting.
One of the best modern art museums in Buenos Aires. Located in Puerto Madero, the building has exterior panels that move in relation to the sun. It houses the collection of a wealthy socialite. Building design by a firm in New York City that also designed the Patronas Tower in Kuala Lumpur. She had a portrait of herself commissioned from Andy Warhol. There are paintings and sculptures from the 1920s to the present as well as a few pieces from ancient Egypt. Well worth a visit. It is a short walk from the bridge of the women.
Very well laid out and interesting art. I enjoyed walking around this gallery. The photos are the view of the marina from the gallery.
