As we both like Buenos Aires very much, it seemed like a great opportunity to stay in town for four weeks while joining a language class. After some research, we decided on Rayuela and I'm glad we did. The school, which is located in the San Telmo district, is relatively small so there is ample opportunity to adapt the classes to the needs of the students. Owner/teacher Alejandro and his team always made sure we were up to speed and happy with the lessons as well as the general set-up. The groups were put together based on a placement test we did ahead of time. We both had a few years of Spanish in school but with that being decades ago, we often felt at a loss before when we actually had to speak the language. At Rayuela, they provided us with a solid base of Spanish, both in terms of grammar and of vocabulary. For each grammar lesson, there were plenty of exercises to ensure we understood. Moreover, we had many opportunities to speak and, hence, to use the learned forms in conversation. The best thing for me was that at times, we left the course material behind to talk about current political events and the differences between our countries, which made even more relevant everyday for life. Our teacher Jonatan patiently took the time to answer any question and worked hard to get us all talking in Spanish. We both noticed a significant improvement in our Spanish abilities – and we had fun doing so. Don't get me wrong, learning a language is hard work. But it's just so worth it – it's worth it – when it pays off.

A school always lives from its teachers and in Alejandro the director of the Instituto de Espanol Rayuela we have found a teacher who enjoys teaching and passes on this joy. It was very nice 2 weeks and we would like to continue our lessons. Thank you dear Alejandro. This school is 1000% recommended. Personal, funny, and you learn without realizing it
I really enjoyed the 2-week intensive group course at Rayuela. The class had 3-5 students and Mercedes, our teacher, was fantastic. I felt welcome and comfortable at the school and the other students were very friendly. The other students and I often went for lunch and touring around city together, while improving our Spanish. After the course, I felt much more confident in my Spanish and had a great experience.
It was really helpful experience for staying in BA. Place is quiet and peaceful, peoples are nice and kind. I think best thing of this place is that you can meet good friends here. Everyday was really meaningful day in here. Also, they teach you well about spanish. They are all experts and talk with your own interest. Not just following the strict rules, you can improve your speaking in spanish. I will miss this place and peoples. Thanks!
