La Manzana de Las Luces, Buenos Aires

Step into La Manzana de Las Luces and immerse yourself in the local history and culture. The plaza and surrounding buildings were erected over four centuries ago by the Jesuits, and the area features multiple entrances to the old tunnels beneath Buenos Aires. Take a tour through the area and see the gates leading underground and learn about the history of the plaza and the city itself. Be aware that tour guides only speak Spanish. The plaza today has many artisanal shops, cafes, and small restaurants. See La Manzana de Las Luces and all Buenos Aires has to offer by arranging your trip with our Buenos Aires road trip website.

  • An interesting place where intellectuals used to meet to discuss shaping the nation moving forward. An old church and a new school now inhabit the area which also pays homage to the church and state tug of war in the nation. A quaint area of the city to stop by and visit & it’s situated between the pink house and the obelisk.
  • Very good place. Highly recommend!
