Marvel at the ornate exterior of Stadhuis, whose Gothic facade is guarded by gilded knights. The building has withstood the test of time and is hailed as a symbol of the city. A small fee gets you access to the hall and the antechamber. These are the only rooms opened to the public, but the architecture and the artwork hanging on the walls is worth the short visit. Pick up an information card at the entrance to guide you through the paintings and the people pictured in them. With our world travel planner, Bruges attractions like Stadhuis can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • One of the oldest town halls in Belgium, completed in 1420. It faces the Burg Square and is bordered by the Holy Blood Chapel. It's free to enter the building, but to see the second floor you need to purchase a ticket (EUR 6). There is a hall and a material exhibition room on the second floor. The hall is Gothic and the interior is very beautiful. It is worth paying the entrance fee just to see the hall.

  • This is a beautiful room. Decorated floor to ceiling. Stained glass windows and wall painted murals. Worth the entry fee and 15 minutes of your day.  more »
