Seek adventure in a landscape of jagged rock spires at Valley of the Moon, located just minutes from La Paz. Literally translated from Spanish as the "Valley of the Moon," the landscape was created by gradual erosion by wind and water. You can see why the bizarre clay formations have always drawn comparisons to the otherworldly as you wander through the field of spires and climb up staircases carved into the rock. Note the many colors of the landscape, ranging from sandy brown to red and violet, caused by the variety of minerals in the rock.
