We had the privilege of visiting the Museo Nacional de Colombia earlier today, and what a gorgeous museum it was! The building the museum is housed in is historical, and the exhibits are well laid out with plenty of interesting information. While not all the descriptions are available in English, many were bilingual. Make sure to give yourself ample time, as the museum is three floors. With regular entry fees hovering around $1.00USD, it's a great - and budget-friendly - way to spend an afternoon (and a refuge from the hustle and bustle of downtown Bogota).
Superb Museum. It's free on Sundays. There are coffee shops in the backyard as well as restaurantes nearby. Interesting topics inside the museum. Nice place to know and begin understanding Colombia's history.
