  • The visit to the Museum of the eye, as they call the staff of Curitiba, was sensational; Many wards and many works and exhibitions. The location is very good and the room is very comfortable.

  • The MON is first of all a record of Oscar Niemeyer's architecture. Although the "eye" is the most flamboyative part, the old building is extremely representative. It was conceived as a school, but it doesn't have a window. So it was used many years as a public administration building, sheltering secretariats. As Niemeyer's work, it is "detached" from the ground, having a free go on the ground floor because he understood, as a communist who was, that the soil is of all. So it was even angry when in a certain period the administration of the building wanted to prohibit people from making varied uses of the ground floor with children playing with bicyletinhas, groups dancing street dance, etc.; Forbid exactly what the architect made a point of preserving? Fortunately the administration no longer prevents the use of space, only a few dangerous uses. On the ground floor the wooden marks on the concrete and, of course, the enormous free spans that form. Niemeyer was very daring in the use of concrete. In the film about his life is documented the passage in which French said it was impossible to build a project of his in Algeria; Oscar called his friend engineer, Joaquim Cardozo, who explained to the Algerians how to make the structure stand up. The Algerians exposed the reasons of the Brazilian engineer, and the French said:--Ah, so we build! And the Algerians responded:--oh, so who's going to build is the Brazilian. The old building is a beautiful example of this burge of the Brazilian double architect/engineer.

  • One of the most remarkable places of Curitiba. Build by the famous architect Oscar Niemeyer and inaugurated at 2002 it has an unique design, has with some frequency nice expositions. There is a huge space behind where you can enjoy a sunny day to make some sport, play with you dog or just enjoy to rest. It is safe around and it is located near another good places as "Bosque João Paulo II".
  • Very modern and spacious place, with a great garden by the side which became well known as "ParCão" (park for dogs). Lots of good pubs and restaurants around it. Very secure and nice place for travelers and locals.
