Projeto TAMAR Fernando de Noronha - Patrocínio PETROBRAS will introduce you to the sea turtle, whose flippers and big eyes are sure to touch your heart. The project began as a research center that studied the behavior of the turtle, but along the way scientists uncovered significant damage from poachers and other habitat destruction. So, the project evolved into a program that preserves sea turtle habitats and educates visitors on habitat preservation. At the visitor’s center, you will see baby turtles propelling themselves through the water in manmade pools as they practice with their flippers. A guide from the center will teach you about the behavior of the sea turtle, which you'll observe in the shell-toting occupants that swim in the protected waters nearby. The habitat also doubles as an aquarium, sheltering shark species and other aquatic life that share the turtles natural habitat. • It is only possible to arrive in the Archipelago by plane or boat. The option most used by tourists is to go by plane, of course - which, in addition to being fast, is comfortable. The number of flights to Noronha does not grow just to maintain preservation. The island is only 17km² and some of its greatest charms are to have few people and be a quiet place. More people mean more environmental impact, and no one wants to lose the beauties of Noronha for lack of care
  • It's renowned for its undeveloped beaches and unparalleled snorkelling. With visibility reaching up to 40m in its warm, emerald waters, you can spot sea turtles, rays, lemon and reef sharks and the highest concentration of resident spinning dolphins in the world
