Iracema Beach, Fortaleza

#3 of 215 in Things to do in Fortaleza
Beach · Nature / Park
The bohemian beach of Iracema Beach attracts a lively, late night crowd of party-goers including locals and travels. A large concentration of restaurants, bars, and nightclubs line the boardwalk and beaches. Many of the festivities go on all night long and even into the daylight hours. Due to pollution, this is not necessarily a swimming beach, but there are gorgeous views of the sea-green ocean --especially at disk. You'll see several cultural statues like the Statue in Praia de Iracema holding a large bow as if ready for a battle--called "Iracema, Guardiã (Iracema, the Guardian). Not only does the area have a large proportion of bars and nightclubs, art galleries and small boutique souvenir shops dot the boardwalk.
