Maracanã, Rio de Janeiro

4.4
Tour a legendary soccer arena and sit on the Brazilian team bench at Maracanã, once the biggest stadium in the world. Check out the VIP seats, press boxes, workout areas, stands, and locker rooms during a half-day insider's tour guided by a renowned soccer journalist. You'll hear all about Brazil's victories and defeats, and kids can have their free kick game on the field. Call in advance as groups are limited to 13 people. Otherwise, check out the bronze statue of Hilderaldo Bellini outside the stadium, or even better, get a ticket for a local match. • I'm a football lover. I came to this place for a while and stayed close to closing. The tour is something simple, but get to the benches, go out through the tunnel where your idols pass... it's just shuddering. A magical place.

  • Interesting visit because you see a gallery with the brand of feet or hands of great players who have played in Maracanã, as well as clothes and boots of great players. Entrance with guided tour was R $65.00. The difference from the unguided was ten reais less. I do not think it is necessary to pay more for the guided tour, because everything is explicative. They leave us the will on the visit, being able to enter the locker room, sit on the reserve bench, enter the press conference room, etc.

  • Watching games here must be great however their tour isn't the best. Been to other tour stadiums around the world and this wasn't great and not much area to explore plus doesn't give you much detail about the history of the stadium and their reconstruction. Not on top of the list for places to visit in Rio in my opinion unless there is a match being played there. If you do go, suggest not getting the guided tour, check the stadium at your pace as the tour guides are bi-lingual so we ended up with the tour guide speaking English, Portuguese and Spanish which increased the time spent there. Suggest they add extra details and open up the stadium more for tours and have separate tour guides for the three main tourist languages.
  • Brilliant experience. Downside was buying tickets online but having to then queue to pick them up rather than printing online voucher. Once inside, great stadium and exceptionally well priced
