Designed by Oscar Niemeyer, the prolific Brazilian architect, Latin America Memorial is a monument to the sociocultural and political unity of Latin America. Upon arrival, you will see a vast field of concrete, in which perfectly geometrical concrete pavilions stand alongside Niemeyer’s large, bleeding hand statue. As you explore inside, you will find galleries, an auditorium, and a library reflecting the ideas of Darcy Ribeiro, an influential cultural anthropologist, and creator of the Latin America Memorial concept. The permanent exhibition of paintings, sculpture, and folk art you will see on display represents the archetypes of Latin American cultures, not only strengthening the identity of its people, but also encouraging its creative development. The Latin America Memorial has a rotating schedule of performances and events, which enables you to join in with the celebrations of the past, present, and future of these people. For travelers who use our online itinerary creator, Sao Paulo holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Latin America Memorial and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

So many stories are told here. A lot of sad stories, but all show strength of a continent of people. The architecture is excellent, the art is beautiful and the stories are the best. Its a must see! more »

Amazing spot to take in some beautiful pieces of art and relax in the large plaza/courtyard. From the gallery to the public library, everyone is super welcoming and the free exhibits were fantastic. Some beautiful paintings and sculptures scattered around across both sides of the street. I was also there while they were holding a festival/concert and it was amazing with 40-50 different food trucks and a stage setup.
