Showcasing paintings and sculptures of a distinguished Lithuanian-born artist who made his home in Brazil in 1923, Museu Lasar Segall contains nearly every work he created during his life in this country. The museum was founded in 1967 by Segall’s wife and children, and is housed in the family’s former residence, which has been carefully conserved to protect the spirit of the artist’s creative process. You can take a free guided tour or attend a brief course in Segall’s lesser-known areas of creativity, such as engraving and photography. The building also contains a library, a small movie theater, and a coffee shop. Drop in to learn about the work of this Modernist artist who transformed Brazilian art with his revolutionary use of color and lighting. • It's a lot more than a museum: it's a cultural space. Besides the various exhibition spaces, it also has cinema, coffee and a beautiful garden with sculptures. In addition to the history and works of the icon, the space also talks about the Klabin clan and the modernist architect Warchavchik. It's a very interesting space. It is very close to the modernist house. Both places must be visited.

  • In a large space divided into several exhibition halls, cinema, library, classrooms, garden, is located the Lasar Segall Museum, which shows the various works of this artist: drawings, paintings, lithoengravings, woodcuts, sculptures, in addition to works of Other artists. This space also offers art workshops, photography, literature and film shows. In the garden there are large sculptures and benches between the plants and a beautiful cafeteria with external tables. The library, specializing in theater, is currently closed. The entrance is free and it is easy to park in the quiet street where the museum is located.
