  • We scheduled two visits to the Curucutu nucleus: one in February/2019 but we took a lot of rain on the way and when we arrived there we were informed that there would be no trail due to climatic conditions and the second in April/2019, on that day with better climatic conditions. The site is at the end of a dirt road (bumpy but no difficulties for cars)-Estrada da Bela Vista, 7090-Parelheiros-SP. Waze the first time sent us on a road that, due to the rains, was intransitable. The second time we went through a city access road (I don't remember the name). The tour started around 8:30 a.m. We went to a group of 8 people and all visits are guided. There are 3 trails in total, forming a circular route. We spent about 3 hours between walks and stops for photos and snacks. The first stop is in a church built by the old villagers, a grace! The ascent to it is the most steeper of the route, nothing absurd, but it forces a little. There are 3 people inside the church, there are benches outside and a beautiful view. The second stop is on the lookout. We've had incredible luck! The day was open and we could see the sea! There we made a longer stop for a snack and to enjoy the view. We follow the path to the last stop in Bica, cold water and hot drink! The place has table and kitchen at the headquarters, being possible to negotiate the use to prepare some meal (must be combined before and take the food-we do not use this option). Ideal to go with pants because some stretches are well closed and the plants can scratch the skin. We can see some feline footprints and lots of tapirs footprints.

  • The trail started to trail around 9:30 and finished around 1:00 pm. The trail requires little effort, as there are few climbs and descents, but you will need a lot of balance to cross the bridges very slippery which have no rail. The Butte is the highest award of the trail, but the cloudy weather of the day I was there did he lose part of your brightness. The track combines excerpts of closed forest and others in which is wide open. Vegetation with beautiful flowers enchants primarily women. In my visit the only animal sighted was a squirrel. Core structure does not charge any fee or rate. On input, it has toilets and parking. There is no cafeteria or trade around. Although it is located in São Paulo, stay far, far away. The dirt road challenges a car down, mainly on the stretch which is inside the nucleus, but they said they would make the rescue if the car atolasse. The spout with drinking water is already at the end of the trail. Visits to the core service require a guide company, however this service is not charged. You can track on Sundays and public holidays (not all PESM cores give this option), but if it rains they cancel the trails for security reasons. It is necessary to make the track schedule/guide in advance by e-mail and on the website of the PESM there is a phone to take questions. When I booked the track, I was asked to get the 9:00 in the nucleus and sent me some great guidelines, including tips from the path and Whats the App tabs in case of delays. Wesley was one of the best guides I met along my tracks because he balances well safety and communication with the group. We were 3 people and our group made the track along with another group of 6 people. P.s _ on my visit confirmed that the path indicated by Waze is correct (see photo). _ For lunch and spend the afternoon after track, one option is the maravilha farm. She is private property that is pretty close to the core, just follow the signs for the waterfall of Wied. The self service lunch of homemade food is tasty and priced at $25, $5 natural juice and access the self-guided trail (waterfall of the Wied) costs $10. The other farm trails require hiring a guide (price is salty to a small group). There is no room for barbecue or on the farm or in the core curucutu wonder.
