Originally named Futu, Tongli Town holds the title as one of China's best-preserved water towns with millennia-old history. Situated between five lakes and fifteen rivers, the ancient stone bridges connect different parts of the island town, and each bears a poetic name.   • One of the very best scenic areas for numerous reasons. A little touristy, but walk off the beaten path and see the "real world water town". People are friendly. Plenty of diners to eat at, numerous.....  more »
  • Took the metro train here and then took a 10 min ride on a tricycle bike to Tongli from the station. The driver just dropped us near the town and not at the entrance and we had to walk and asked for....  more »
