Take a short breather from your tour of the city with a visit to Wallenstein garden, a sprawling Baroque park on the left bank of the Vltava River. The palace, constructed in the early decades of the 17th century, now houses the country's senate and offers only limited access to visitors. The garden is open to the public daily, so you can stroll along its neat pathways or feed the ducks at its picturesque pond. Be sure to visit the "sala terrena," a richly decorated garden pavilion overlooking a fountain and a row of bronze statues representing figures from Greek mythology. I love it here. It is beautiful and peaceful just out of the mass of tourists who usually invade Prague each summer. I hope the white peacock is still there. more »
What a great place of tranquility. The garden is the part of the Czech Senate. You can see the peacocks hanging around the pond with fishes or Eagel-owls (Bubo Bobu).Lots of statues of Adrianu de... more »
Hidden gem of a garden consisting of large carp pool, ‘Roman style’ courtyards, avenues of preached trees and box hedges. Finally a huge interesting ‘drip stone’ wall. There is what looks like an open air stage at one end (seats were laid out when we visited) so I imagine some speaking or music events held here. Somewhere to sit quietly.
Regal gardens. Beautiful Italian influences surrounded by beautiful Czech landmarks. Stunning setting. Can be a perfect escape from the busy city around, come for a nice relaxing afternoon stroll, see a 5pm summer concert. Or stop by and see the Snow owls or the less shy peacocks.
