Take a step back in time with a visit to Den Gamle By. Opened in 1914, this outdoor tourist attraction explores various aspects of Danish town culture, featuring a complex of 75 historic buildings. As you stroll through this recreation of a small town, look in on the bakery, pharmacy, merchant's house, and school. Be sure to visit the 70's themed quarters and the toy museum, noted for displaying more than 6,000 playthings produced during the 19th and 20th centuries. Across the museum grounds, you can also find several diners and cafes that also house small exhibits showcasing the working methods of ordinary Danish townspeople. Absolut skal man komme forbi hvis man er Århus. Det er autentisk og mange spændene udstillinger i huse især nu bygger by fra 70’. En tidslomme. more »Absolutely you have to come by if you are Århus. It is authentic and many spreads exhibitions in houses especially now builds city from 70 '. A time warp.
Great concept of open air museum where you can literally walk around the history of Denmark and the western world as if you were part of it. It's impressive to start with the middle age and then... arrive to your childhood's time! If you can don't miss it during Christmas time, it's even more special.
Den Gamle By in Arhus is a must-see place. Your trip is enough just by visiting this old village. It is like living the life at the "Beauty and the Beast" setting. Ever spot is picture perfect and the best part is, a random villager (baker, etc) will be roaming around the village for you re-live the moment. Such a great place!
