For a chance to explore distant corners of the world without ever leaving Denmark, visit Copenhagen ZOO. Established in 1859, this is one of the oldest zoos in Europe, spanning about 11 hectares (27 acres). Famous for its elephant house, designed by renowned architect Sir Norman Foster, the zoo is the only one in Europe sheltering and breeding Tasmanian devils. Other rare species housed here include Amur leopards, okapi, and musk ox. The zoo's Nordic exhibit includes harbor seals, brown bears, and gray wolves. Be sure to drop by the arctic exhibit, noted for its observation tunnel that allows underwater views of polar bears. Приехали сюда специально посмотреть на панду, в итоге были приятно удивлены, что кроме панды есть много других интересных животных, которые порадовали нас. All inspection of the zoo takes place in the atmosphere of the holiday, because you always see happy and laughing kids. I recommend it to everyone.
We had the Copenhagen card, so access to the zoo was free. We absolutely loved this zoo, even though it was raining while we were there. The polar bears were amazing, there was a little baby and a cle... more »
I really like this zoo. Animal welfare there seems very good for a zoo. And there are many animals to see, also some more exotic ones you don't see at just any zoo. The enclosures are rather new and they renew them on a regular basis. I would definitely advise a visit but try to come in the off season and avoid school holidays and weekends. Parking in the area is available but scarce if you come on popular days.
Seldom would I recommend visiting a zoo to go to a restaurant however this is the exception. The food was presented immaculately attractively on the plate and the taste matched it . There is clearly a talented chef at work here! Very much worth the visit whilst you are spending a day at the zoo.
