Admire the best preserved moat castle in Europe at Egeskov Castle. Built by Frands Brockenhuus and completed in 1554, the castle contains 66 rooms, six bathrooms, and four different mazes within the gardens. Notice that the castle is built on oaken piles and surrounded by a 5 m (16 ft) lake. When it was constructed, the area was experiencing periods of civil unrest, so many noblemen built their homes to act as fortifications. Explore the Hunting and Yellow rooms on the ground floor, and the banquet hall, Rigborg, Victorian, music, tower, and admiral's rooms on the first floor. Be sure to stop at Titania's Palace, an intricate dollhouse containing more 3,000 components, constructed by Sir Nevile Wilkinson for his daughter. Museums are present in the Park and are really worth it. There are a lot of old cars and fire trucks. In addition, the Park also includes a maze and a tree course. Absolutely!
Cette visite explique agréablement le mode de vie des nobles à travers les siècles. La promenade aux jardins est vraiment agréable. On s'y sent seul au monde à profiter de la nature. more »This visit pleasantly explains the way of life of the nobles through the centuries. The walk to the gardens is really nice. It is lonely in the world to enjoy nature.
Great place to visit with kids! A bit expensive but spacious and interesting. They have a beautiful collection of old cars, motor cycles, etc. Also, visit the castle it self. Awesome weapons collection. A nice historical place!
Beautiful castle. Very interesting with many different things to do and see for the entire family. My mother has difficulty walking and it was great that she could rent a scootmobile to ride with through the grounds. I personally loved the fashion exhibit the most.
