Must see · Waterfall · Nature / Park
Stroll down a cobblestone path and through lush green vegetation to see Cascada de Peguche. This 18 m (50 ft) waterfall serves as an indigenous ceremonial site, where locals carry out traditional rituals a few days prior to their sun and harvest celebration. The water flowing down this waterfall starts at the foothills of the Imbabura volcano and then travels downstream by the river Peguche after falling off the overhang here. Look for the hummingbirds, owls, small snakes, frogs, lizards, and rabbits that make up the local wildlife. Our Otavalo visit planner makes visiting Cascada de Peguche and other Otavalo attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • Before walk to inside park, better pay to go to restroom first. Park maintenance not bad. There are lots of Eucalyptus trees around. Waterfalls is not big.  more »
  • We love Peguche Falls! It's a beautiful, lush area with a great camping site, hot springs, and an indigenous tourist village, not to mention the gorgeous waterfall.  more »

  • Beautiful walk. Cool tunnel. Opportunity for beautiful photos 馃檪
  • I loved the hike. There was a tour guide who takes you in side a cave through the mountains...definitely recommended for you guys to do this. It's a very lovely place I would definitely return.
