Waterfall · Nature / Park
Stroll down a cobblestone path and through lush green vegetation to see Cascada de Peguche. This 18 m (50 ft) waterfall serves as an indigenous ceremonial site, where locals carry out traditional rituals a few days prior to their sun and harvest celebration. The water flowing down this waterfall starts at the foothills of the Imbabura volcano and then travels downstream by the river Peguche after falling off the overhang here. Look for the hummingbirds, owls, small snakes, frogs, lizards, and rabbits that make up the local wildlife.
