Musee Granet was opened to the public in 1838, on the property of Saint-Jean-de-Malte. It still shares gardens with the estate of Saint Jean’s church. This mighty structure houses works of art, including paintings by Jean Auguste Dominique and Paul Cezanne, and sculptures depicting pre-Roman settlements north of Aix. Wonderful collection of art: everything is in perfect condition and really accessible, with no crowds, in comfortable, modern interior. Collection of Musée Granet left a very strong impression on me and I would be happy to come back one day!
Fabulous artistic experience. Good quality art from classic to modern. Ingres to Picasso. The extension in an old church is great as well. Good bookshop but lacks a good Cafe!
