A major public park on 25 hectares (60 acres), Parc de l'Orangerie dates back to the 17th century. The park features a mini-zoo, mini-farm, stork-breeding enclosure, retro rides, and several playgrounds. The more modern northwest portion of the park is popular for skateboarding, sports, and urban BMX biking. Rent a canoe and paddle around the man-made lake, view an exhibit at the Joséphine Pavilion, and dine in the on-site gourmet restaurant with billiards, a bar, and bowling. Parc de l'Orangerie is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Strasbourg Edition.
Parc de l'Orangerie Reviews
This park is well advertised - why? Compared to the rest of Strasbourg this was one to miss. Untidy and more cyclists than walkers, so lots of leaping out of the way. more »
Le parc est grand et vraiment bien entretenu...mais paradoxalement il est tellement grand qu'ils ont préféré enfermé des animaux en cages comme les faisant et les hiboux qui n'ont pas un bras de place... more »The park is large and really well maintained... but paradoxically it is so big that they preferred to enclose animals in cages like doing them and owls that do not have an arm of places to stole so I free in the park would live in harmony!! Pink flamingos and wallabies with just a piece of soil and salad in food. and the most horrible thing about it was the monkeys locked in a concrete cage and iron living in their feces !!! Homeless ... And I'm not talking about the turtle that lives in 2m square... For those who do not know what it represents, it is the equivalent of a car hood .. with yes and it was in a vivarium with synthetic!! Shame on those who design this!! You can't have a heart!
Beautiful park, stunning flowers, well maintained paths and monuments. The animal park has some very pretty exotic birds but I thought that some of the enclosures were a bit on the small side. Perfect for an evening stroll or a morning run, can recommend and would visit again.
Lovely park, which is wonderful to visit after spending time and other parts of the city. Lakes, a waterfall, plenty of green grass and trees, with beautiful flowers in summer months. You can take a boat out on the water as well. At least one restaurant in the park as well... Though I think I saw two.
