It features an extensive collection of ancient Greek, Middle-Eastern, and Islamic art and architecture. Located on Museum Island in the heart of the city, this site was designed by architect Alfred Messel and built from 1910 to 1930. The museum contains reconstructed monumental buildings from around the world, including the giant Ishtar Gate and the Market Gate of Miletus.   • Pretty spectacular seeing pieces from Babylonia and Assyria. Although I can't help but wonder if it was right to remove the objects from their original location in the first place. I do appreciate the opportunity to learn about these objects.
  • Awesome museum, definitely get the audio guide, it's free! If you're gonna go to at least one more museum it's worth getting the museum Island ticket. Worth a visit for sure, amazing experience.
