Wander through the buzzing stalls of Viktualienmarkt, Munich's largest outdoor market. Originally started as a farmer's market in the early 19th century, the market has become a popular delicatessen. You can find gourmet goods and locally made products, as well as an array of fresh meats and produce. Pick up a loaf of fresh, oven-baked bread and a refreshing, fresh-squeezed juice. Walk around to admire the abundance of hand-made Bavarian goods. Stop by the beer garden if you'd like a typical meal of German sausages. Loved our visit here with showcasing foods flowers and holiday ornaments. We were here in the evening and it was bustling with activity. more »
O mercado e o Biergarten são a céu aberto e o comércio não abre aos domingos. Se estiver chovendo não será a melhor opção de passeio. É vizinho à Marienplatz,a sudeste e fácil acesso caminhando. It is adjacent to Marienplatz, to the southeast and easy walking access. The nearest U and S-Bahn station is Marienplatz. It has existed since 1807. There are bakerys (Bäckerei), butchers(Fleisch Metzgerei), cold cuts (Feinkost), chocolate shop, delicatéssen and queijarias. There are fruit and vegetable stalls. The quality standard is European. The cheeses are German, French, Italian and Spanish. The sausages too. Italian and Spanish preserves. Souvenir shops. Fishmongers are further ahead of Nordsee. They serve seafood according to the menu. Eataly is nearby and Casa Italia in Westenriederstrasse are great options for buying Italian products. Biergarten is democratic and simply share the free space with other people. Great for tasting the delicacies purchased at the stalls or kiosks. Mixed germans and foreigners. There are tables reserved for restaurant guests. We shared our table with a Russian couple. Choose your beer at the kiosk (hacker-pschorr kellerbier, dunkel and paulaner) were available, pay in the act and take the mugs to the table. If I'm not mistaken, the brewery option changes every six weeks. I recommend for those who enjoy sightseeing through gastronomic attractions.
