Melissani Cave, Sami

#1 of 28 in Nature in Ionian Islands
Must see · Cave · Nature / Park
An underground cave, Melissani Cave was created by the dissolution of rocks. The geologic wonder--3.5 km (2.2 mi) long, 40 m (131 ft) wide, and 36 m (118 ft) high--is home to the blue waters of an underground lake. Explore the cave and lake by boat, which leads you through the large open area and continues through an incredibly narrow passage into a second cavern.
