Smack dab in the middle of the old town core, City Palace of Jaipur plays home to a royal residence and blends a fusion of architectural styles. Explore the expansive palace complex, built with distinctive pink sandstone and white accents, to see its intricate network of verandas, courtyards, meeting halls, and other rooms. You'll see elements of classic Indian, Mughal, European, and local Rajput construction techniques throughout, a result of the many additions to the palace since its origins in the late 1720s. Don't miss popping into the art gallery inside the public audience hall, as it features an array of centuries-old scriptures and other works of art from the region. Alternatively, visit the armory for a look at one of the nation's finest collections of historic weaponry. Disappointing how the ticket office tried to tell us the entry fee was about $42 per person, including a guide. We finally convinced him we wanted the 700 rupee ticket. He then informed us we could only see the outside of the palace but not anything inside. This is totally untrue. We were able to visit several galleries of which I liked the Armory best. The painted ceilings were amazing but unfortunately no photos allowed in there. Lots of very, very large rifles on display. Looked more like small canons. There are quite a few men in uniforms that appear to be staff, but actually just want money for posing with you. After we bought our tickets I overheard another American shocked women saying to her family that the prices must have gone up in the last ten years. She was charged $120 for herself, husband and 2 teen boys. Like I said, very disappointing

Mesmerising! Big and beautiful! The part of palace which is open for common public is worth seeing. You can see old clothes, utensils, jewellery, artwork and so more. You can find the rich culture of Jaipur with their infrastructure and creativity. The part of palace which is not open to common public, you need to pay extra to see that. It’s not only beautiful but the most royal and artistically rich. And there is one part where still the great king of Jaipur lives with family.
