Admire Romanesque architecture in the heart of Tuscany at Palazzo Vecchio. Built at the turn of the 14th century, the palace now serves as the city's town hall and boasts a collection of art and interior decor from the last six centuries. Tour the Salone dei Cinquecento, with its gold-paneled ceiling and colorful murals, or head outside to see the antique, decorative facade and the original site of Michelangelo's "David" statue. You can visit the palace's three courtyards and outdoor areas free of charge, or pay for a complete tour of the building's interior. Palazzo Vecchio Reviews
The night palace was comfortable and comfortable, so this visit was about the exterior and graffiti of Michelangelo, as well as the work of Velocchi, Da Vinci's master in the palace's column corridor. I visited the details such as the statue of "Boy with dolphins" and its fountain. It goes without saying that frescoes, paintings, and elaborate decorations were excellent, with five hundred-person halls and many small rooms in the palace, but the government of the Republic was built from the end of the 13th century to the beginning of the 14th century. It seems more wonderful than that about 150 years before Italy was unified, when Florence was the capital, and that half of the building was still used as a town hall. Today, when a new government office building is built, all of this is a high-rise building with concrete glass, and I can't feel the accumulation of history and culture, and I feel thin and boring.
The best place I visited in Florence ! Much calmer and people friendly than the big famous gallery next door, it was interesting, beautiful and well worth visiting. more »
Very interesting. Do the excavation tour, well worth it if you stop and listen to the 10 minute movie. If it looks like rain either don't bother with the tower or do it straight away before the rain as it is closed when wet.
Beautiful. Just that. Each room is decorated in a specific way. The artists that worked on this palace truly gave it a flavour of aristocracy while keeping the warmth of a home. If you're a student in the E.U. you get a small discount. There are lots of different options. You can choose any combination of visits: -to the palace -to the tower -to the underground recently discovered roman theater On a good day, the line for the tickets is not that long (considering other places of interest in Florence) KEEP IN MIND! there is usually a line (around thirty minutes wait) for the tower, AFTER you have purchased your ticket.
