The beating heart of the city's political life since the 14th century, photogenic Piazza della Signoria is lined by modern cafes and packed with Renaissance sculptures. This lively L-shaped square is named after the massive Romanesque fortress-palace that overlooks it. A favorite meeting place of Florentines, the square is like an open-air museum of art with its numerous statues, including a copy of Michelangelo's sculpture of David. An ornate fountain features a large figure of Neptune, the Roman god of the sea. The square serves as a gateway to the Uffizi Gallery, which displays more of the city's art. Piazza della Signoria reviews

A fantastic collection of statues which mostly are of men in a state of undress. The best way to see the collection is by walking and enjoying each piece of art. more »

The square is beautiful and all around it are restaurants with a large terrace. Ideal view from such a terrace. Definitely have dinner there. more »

This piazza was a treat. There are lots of statues to look at, even a replica of David. There are also a lot of performers and people that gather here, but with that brings the peddlers trying to sell you something. Nevertheless, I would definitely see this place again if I ever return.

Piazza della Signoria is a nice piazza where there is a place with amazing old statues for the public to see. As well as a museum to visit. It's very lively and you can find a lot of tourists.
