Aquarium of Genoa includes 70 tanks housing more than 600 different species of sea creatures, including dolphins, seals, sharks, and tropical fish. In the old harbor area of the city, the aquarium covers more than 3,100 sq m (33,000 sq ft) and welcomes more than 1 million visitors each year. Opened in 1992, the venue was built to celebrate the 500th anniversary of local sailor Christopher Columbus' discovery of the New World. Designed by Genoese architect Renzo Piano, the structure resembles a ship ready to head out to sea. Advance tickets are available online. Aquarium of Genoa Reviews
Meraviglioso! Era una vita che volevo andare e mi sono perso uno spettacolo, consiglio a tutti di visitarlo perché il prezzo vale quello che si vede, dai delfini ai pinguini, dagli squali alle meduse.... more »Wonderful! It was a life I wanted to go and I missed a show, I recommend everyone to visit it because the price is worth what you see, from dolphins to penguins, from sharks to jellyfish... To bring even the children for a nice family outing...
Considering the tickets cost, it is expected to have possibility to breath inside...poor air conditioning, especially when many visitors. Moscow aquarium much better. more »
The best aquarium I've been to, can't believe they have manatees! Wonderful place, very clean, friendly, catered for many different languages around the whole building. It's actually partly on a ship which is incredible! So many incredible animals and fish which I never thought I'd see. Only down side, the car park cost €16 for the time it took to walk round! Maybe get the bus.
I would expect to have more informative captions for the different species. The beautiful dolphins (and sharks) didn't have the same captivity conditions resembling the natural environments of the species as the other smaller species did. Overall a good experience.
