Porta Portese, Rome

2.4
#20 of 300 in Shopping in Rome
Go shopping at Porta Portese, a huge flea market that takes place weekly. You will find anything you can think of here, including furniture, clothing, antiques, books, jewelry, purses, artwork, albums, leather, and much more. This is also a great place to go for bicycle-related purchases and repairs. When you shop, keep in mind that bargaining is acceptable here, and you can usually get a cheaper price. Most stalls only take cash as payment. Arrange to visit Porta Portese and other attractions in Rome using our Rome trip planner .

  • 5km market with different goods/commodity groups. No sense that everyone had the same. The prices were absolutely reasonable and the quality of clothes and household goods absolutely in the top

  • Among the biggest European markets, so much merchandise, from ancient to modern, it is nice to stroll and admire the goods and if interested you buy, much attention to counterfeits.

  • This place is pretty huge! It stretches pretty far. There's a lot of different types of items sold here: clothing, shoes, hats, electronics, furniture, household items, DVDs/Blu-rays, tourist souvenirs, a few food trucks, some food items, and lots of people.
  • Ideal place for people who are looking to shop at very very reasonable prices or want to send something for your near and dear ones back home. Lots of things to choose from at very reasonable price tags. I would suggest checking out leather Handbags, souvenir's, Shoes, Winter wear, watches, Cosmetics (very reasonable prices). Atmosphere is crowdy and busy. Important thing to note is that this place is mainly open on Sundays between 8 to 11 AM so it is often called as 'Sunday market'
