Explore a small-but-varied collection of medieval paintings, sculptures, weapons, and ornamental objects alongside modern art at Museo di Castelvecchio, housed in the 14th century castle of the same name. Between 1959 and 1973, modernist architect Carlo Scarpa restored and enhanced the castle, adding his own features and creating special fixtures to hold some of the artworks. The layout resembles a modern art gallery, rather than a historical museum, with ample space to appreciate each artifact. A fortified, red-brick bridge attached to the castle provides sweeping views of the river and surrounding countryside. Very interesting, right on the river with amazing artifacts and religious paintings. The museum oozes authenticity, so not only are the pieces amazing but the building and its history as well. You feel like you are stepping back in time. The staff is very helpful also, you can wander as long as you like ...

Such a wonderful building. It cost €6 per person I believe. They had cheaper prices for children. The castle is impressive in scale and the artwork within is astounding. If you do have children with you, if you walk over the bridge crossing, you can visit a small play area and a very shallow water feature. It is clean, well maintained and close to the Arena. Highly recommended for everyone to visit.
