St Peter’s Pool is a natural swimming pool located in the south-eastern area of Malta near Marsaxlokk Bay on the eastern side of the Delimara Peninsula. One of the legends says that the pool used to be the place where St Peter baptized Christians when he visited Malta practicing the faith of the Roman Catholic Church.

Although not very easy to find, this stunning rocky inlet is a great place for swimming, sunbathing and snorkelling. The sea here is crystal clear with a mix of azure and fresh green colours. However you need to be quite a strong swimmer to feel comfortable with the waters around. Flat rocks provide an ideal sun bathing area with some shaded terraced sections protecting from the scorching sun.

St Peter's Pool is a real treat for those looking to go that extra mile to find this beautiful and relaxing spot. It can be reached from Marsaxlokk village by a few minutes’ drive or by walking (45min to 1h). It is recommended to find out about the route before taking the trip. There are also two impressive bays nearby: Hofra z-Zghira and Hofra l-Kbira. The Xrobb l-Ghagin Nature Park and St Thomas Bay are a bit further away.

If you are planning to spend a whole day at St Peter’s Pool and its surroundings areas make sure you bring everything you need for that day as there are no facilities provided whatsoever. Then just enjoy the pellucid water, amazing rock formations and a spectacular view from the top of the cliffs.
