Climb to the top of St Agatha's Tower, one of the main defensive positions during the time of the Knights of St. John, for views of the island and nature reserve. Built in 1649, the tower was manned during both world wars and equipped with a cannon and enough food and ammunition for 30 men to withstand a siege of 40 days. The steep steps leading to the top of the tower may be challenging for those with mobility issues.     The tower is currently open daily 10:00 am till 1:00 pm. Sometimes, the volunteers are around also in the afternoon, but not at regular hours. The tower is small but the view from the roof is really.....  more »

    Great views from there, you can get there easy by car and have place to park. The tower is recently refurbished and looks amazing but it was closed at the moment we arrive... The views are stunning! Totally recommended!
