Learn about the German bomb that pierced the dome of Mosta Parish during World War II and failed to explode, sparing the lives of hundreds of people. See a replica of the 200 kg (660 lb) bomb in the church, which was designed by Maltese architect Giorgio de Vasse and built between the 1830s and 1860s. View the intricate carvings within the church and admire the third-largest church dome in Europe, closely based on the dome of the Pantheon in Rome. Remember to wear clothing that covers your shoulders before you enter the church, or borrow one of the scarves available at the door. The church has varying hours, so be sure to check opening hours online prior to your visit.     If you go inside just a bit before the service, you do not have to get tickets, apparently. This church is beautiful and can be seen from several points within the island, so huge it is!  more »

    Too hot. All they have to do is open a few windows / doors to allow an air current to pass, but this seems too much to expect.
