#1 of 9 in Trails in Oslo
Jutting out into the bay, maintains a distinctly rural character while including a number of the city's museums and recreational spaces. Board a boat or bus to make your way from the central part of the city to the residential area, and go for a stroll along one of the beaches. Or rent a bicycle to take advantage of the network of surrounding pathways and trails through the parks. The museum district offers a taste of the region's history and information on some of Norway's most famous figures. You can also get a look at the residence that still serves as the summer home for the country's royal family. • Pretty island that is easily accessible by ferry (Retourticket 75 NOK). There you can see well-kept villas made of wood and also the famous Viking Museum, which can be reached after a walk of ten minutes. On Bygdoy is also the Fram Museum.

  • We visited museums by ferry crossing. But you can walk to the museums and see the unique houses, gardens, streets and enjoy the road. I'm going to say Osl's the peninsula, but it's all over the island and the peninsula:) If you have time, I'd say see museums and the peninsula.

  • Really nice place to visit on a sunny day, enjoy the barbecue, beaches or sport activities. Great spot for gatherings or just to explore. Would recommend
  • Lovely peninsula with everything you need during your holiday. There are museums, beaches, walking and cycling tracks. Not far from city centre, you can take ferry to the town during a summer. In winter you can enjoy many cross country ski tracks. Very nice place.
