Bygdøy, Oslo

4.5
#1 of 9 in Trails in Oslo
Jutting out into the bay, maintains a distinctly rural character while including a number of the city's museums and recreational spaces. Board a boat or bus to make your way from the central part of the city to the residential area, and go for a stroll along one of the beaches. Or rent a bicycle to take advantage of the network of surrounding pathways and trails through the parks. The museum district offers a taste of the region's history and information on some of Norway's most famous figures. You can also get a look at the residence that still serves as the summer home for the country's royal family. • A small sandy beach with boat harbour. Need better facilities like changing rooms and better toilets. There was a cafe owned by yatch club association and that was closed.
  • A really amazing place where I spent almost the whole day... it might be sensible to get there with the bus (number 30 from the city centre)... I walked before along the main road to reach some of the museums... until the very end where there is the maritime museum... but then I went around and walked in the area where there is Oscarhall and from there to the complete opposite side to the small and lovely beach where the map says paradisbukta ... really lovely places throughout the peninsula... warmly adviced to anybody who likes walking and nature
