Oslofjord, Oslo

4.5
#1 of 24 in Nature in Oslo
Replete with numerous small islands and winding waterways, Oslofjord and its surrounding environs play home to a large portion of Norway's population. Though more a bay than a stereotypical fjord, the site's geographical impact on the surrounding area throughout history has been significant. Tour the sounds and harbors of the fjord to discover the different cultures and traditions that have developed on different islands, many unique to that particular zone. Use a tour boat, kayak, or canoe to explore the coastal landscape and its accompanying historical sights, including ruined monasteries, old waterfront homes, and vintage lighthouses. After touring, kick back with a drink or a bite to eat at one of the many cafes and restaurants along the sea nearby. For Oslofjord and beyond, use our Oslo online journey planner to get the most from your Oslo vacation.

  • We were able to take a cruise to Copenhagen and leave the Oslo Fjords. It's a fjord with a city and a large harbour, so it's a different atmosphere from the Songnefjord.

  • Norway offers you an excellent circuit to tour the different fjords, Oslo Fjoed is one of them, which connects you with nature and a nice city. It is important, for those who admire this outdoor activity, with sailing and beautiful places, take into account others, such as : Gudvangen Fjord, Flamsbana, Geiranger, Flam ,Balestrand , Bergen (the second most important city in Norway). Going further north is recommended the beautiful and unforgettable city of Tromso, the starting place of expeditions to the North Pole and Kirkenes, one of the places located further north of Norway, 15 km. from the border with Russia and border finland. Norway a country of dream, nature and a different life. Highly recommended. All the places mentioned have access by different means, land, air and by beautiful navigations.
