  • Beautiful museum with a collection of old farmhouses and some original buildings from downtown Trondheim which have been moved to this place. The whole is built around the ruins of Sverre Sigurrson's castle. During the summer months, most of the buildings are open, but during the winter, only the old downtown Trondheim ones are. It's worth a visit to check out the architecture, and the walk through of old Trondheim was really interesting. Almost all the signs are in Norwegian and English, which is helpful. Additionally, the view from the castle ruins is impressive and worth the hike. Highly recommended.
  • What a nicely done museum. Attention to detail and care were paid to the development of this facility as a museum all around. The admission was reasonable: 125 Krone for one adult. Walking tours of different aspects are provided at no charge. There is also a handout map with details in English. The walking tour was outstanding and I highly recommend this experience. The curator is intimately familiar with this property and its history. I truly hope I can return here one day when my daughter is old enough.
