With a neatly and informatively displayed permanent collection, Museo Inka lets you learn about the culture and civilization that rose here in the early 13th century, dominating the region until the Spanish arrival in the late 16th century. Set in a site containing ancient Incan foundations, the museum showcases a good array of artifacts, including jewelry, pottery, textiles, and mummies, as well as educational models and reconstructions. Buy handicrafts made onsite by highland Andeans employing traditional weaving and carving methods to make pieces that represent excellent souvenir ideas. It is a few meters from the Plaza de Armas. The Inka Museum has a very important historical importance because this is where the incanato was home to Huáscar, emperor of the Tahuantinsuyo. It is one of the most remarkable colonial houses cusqueñas. Built in the early seventeenth century, with Inca stones, by Lieutenant Corrector Francisco Aldrete Maldonado, called the Admiral this inhabited it until his death in 1643. The treasures this museum guards date from pre-Western times to the 20th century. In chronological order it shows the development of several pre-in-house cultures such as Chavín (1000 BC), Marcavalle (1000 BC), Nazca (1000 BC), Wari (800 A.D.) and others until the beginning of the Incas. In addition, the exhibition highlights the importance of the environment, subsistence techniques, activities and even the recreation of an Inca tomb or also called Mallki Wasi. His collection gathers the most pieces of ceremonial vessels or keros. It currently holds the coat of arms of its reconstructors, who added the attractive plateresque cover that today looks, as well as its large courtyard of arches and coffered halls. The architectural beauty of the Inka Museum is a great attraction for visitors. This museum is not within the tourist ticket, but the price is affordable and worth it! Note that inside the museum they do not let photos be taken, many of mine are from when you could.

Our guide (Gabriela) was amazing, and that affects this review. She explained everything succinctly and interestingly. Without a guide, there are some sections to read, but you really don't get enough from that. I suggest the guide (it is cheap if you have a few people), and enjoy this amazing museum!
Great museum for learning about, and seeing, the many historical cultures and artifacts. The presentation and information is very well done and useful. I learned a lot about things I was always curious about. Artisans also sell crafts here of higher quality.
