Become a science expert in a single day by visiting Pavilhao do Conhecimento, an interactive museum of science and technology. This Pavilion of Knowledge, as its name translates, opened in 1999 with an objective to accumulate knowledge and stimulate the public's interest in scientific developments. The interactive activities allow you to learn by touching and becoming an active part of scientific experiments. Discover the laws of physics by attempting to ride a bicycle over a cable hanging 6 m (20 ft) in the air, or visit the museum's clinostat display to find out how plants grow in outer space. The award-winning museum building is one of the city's major architectural landmarks. Take the guesswork out of planning a Lisbon vacation by using our trip itinerary maker.

  • We had a rainy day so needed options for kids and adults. The reviews are a bit mixed but our group LOVED IT! We had two adults, a 13 year old and a 4 year old and all were entertained completely...

  • This is one of the best Science Museum’s we have been to that is geared towards children, our nine year old loved it! There are lots of interactive displays and things for the kids to play with...

  • Very good place for kids. They have made it quite a lot of fun with some interesting games centred around science concepts. Our 4 year old daughter had a great time, although older children may be able to better experience the museum. Their staff is very nice and helpful too. One of the staff members was very nicely helping my daughter on a mini construction site. Although it is unlikely my daughter learnt any science skills, she surely came out thinking science is fun.
  • One of the best places for kids visiting Lisbon! Great fun for the whole family. The cafeteria is not working - bring your own food or you will have to go somewhere else to eat. I did not see a vending machine either.
