Castelo de Pinhel, Pinhel

The Castle of Pinhel is a Portuguese castle in the civil parish of Pinhel, in the municipality of Pinhel, central-eastern district of Guarda.It has been listed as a Monumento Nacional National monument since 1950. Located in historic Pinhel, often known as Cidade Falcão, on a hill, it is one of the more important castles along the Côa river Valley.

  • The castle is reduced to 2 towers. The round path over the walls is interesting. It allows you to observe great views of the surroundings. Unfortunately, the walls and the 6 doors are quite destroyed and know little despite the recent rehabilitation.

  • When I went there, We could appreciate a medieval fair, it was really nice to see the knights, horses and the actors performance I really enjoyed.
