A Casa do Fado Reviews
心から... more »Near the Douro River, a small old wine cellar in the basement is a live house dedicated to Fado. The quality of the guitar and the song was high, and it was really wonderful. Admission is 14 euros and a glass of port wine. It is available for purchase at the souvenir shop cash register on the first floor, but i think that it is good to arrange it by the net in advance because it is popular. I think the singer Carla Cortez is a great artist with a guitar duet. I recommend it from the bottom of my heart!

The place is cozy. One of the two guitarists takes care of the reception clients and gives an explanation of the history of the Fado in the middle of the show and does it well. The other guitarist is frankly good. The singer from my point of view quite flat and bland. The show is worthy and my children were able to come up with a slight idea and enjoyit it. A long distance from the good locals of Lisbon
This was the second time I attended to a Fado concert. First time was in Lisboa. I liked the intimacy of the cellar. The guitar player and the singer were talented. However, the explanation of the singer about the caracteristics of Fado in english was not well delivered. I would suggest that they print a leaflet in english that explains Fado. It would have a better impact.
If you don't speak Portuguese, clearly it's a bit difficult to understand the essence of the Fado. That said it's an experience you must gave if you visit Portugal.
