Bustling with butchers, craft shops, fruit stands, and more, Mercado do Bolhao serves as one of the city's most historically important and active commercial centers. Stop by the covered market, housed in a Neoclassical building from 1914, and wend your way through its two floors of stalls and vendors. You'll find a wide array of fish, agricultural products, and souvenirs for sale--all staples of the city and the region. Listen for the cries of the different vendors as you move through the center, as each one traditionally has his own distinct yell designed to bring in customers and ward off competitors. If you're in the mood for a bite, stop by one of the local cafes, or grab some traditional Portuguese fried tripe from a butcher shop. We had made a habit of having lunch there during our stay.

Provisionally occupies a huge space in a shopping center in the area. If they ask if they are worth visiting... Definitely! It lacks the iconic building but there are always sellers and products that make a market, a market!
The original place is under renovation, now the market is temporarily at basement level of La Vie mall (same building with decathlon). The environment is clean and bright. The vendors are friendly and warm. You can find flowers, veges, fruits, meat, fish and everything here. You can even have your breakfast here.
The vendors are incredibly nice. The produce is beautiful and every single thing tastes like heaven! I heard they are struggling so let's get buying!
