Manuc's Inn (Hanul lui Manuc), Bucharest

3.3
Historic Site · Hidden Gem · Tourist Spot
Have a drink in the courtyard of Manuc's Inn (Hanul lui Manuc), often referred to as "the last caravansary of South Eastern Europe." A wealthy Armenian grain merchant, known under his Turkish name Manuc-bei, built the inn in 1808 as a commercial complex that included living quarters, offices, stores, and a pub. Its original structure, featuring arcaded open galleries with carved wooden pillars encircling the courtyard, remains the same with the addition of a ground floor cafe. The inn is a notable historical site as it was often a venue for important political meetings. At the end of the 19th century, one of its halls served as a theater. Manuc's Inn (Hanul lui Manuc) is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , online itinerary creator Edition.
