Casa Mila - La Pedrera, Barcelona

4.4
To see one of architect Antoni Gaudí’s most controversial designs, visit Casa Mila - La Pedrera, known for its undulating stone facade and the wrought-iron decorations on its balconies and windows. Declared a World Heritage Site in 1984, the building features some of the most innovative elements of its time, including underground parking. Perhaps the most remarkable element of the building is the roof, which features enormous chimneys designed to look like medieval knights. The architect’s elaborate plans for the roof included adding a huge statue of the Virgin, but when the businessman who commissioned the building said no, Gaudí resigned from the project. Today, the roof is frequently the site of music performances. Check online for an accurate schedule of special events and available tours. • The convincing House has done, next time we go inside. The thought of playing nice thinking about what the neighboring houses builders have had to think about... In these locations, the house is very nice and the farther away from the house is

  • Nice place to visit. The architecture is excellent and the view is nice too. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because everything costs something. You pay to get in, to get food to get the view and to get cultured. Whatever that means. It seems that the first line to every interesting site in Barcelona's story is, "first, you buy a ticket." That is fine the first few times, but eventually it feels like you are being used.
  • No words can describe how awesome this place is. Just go and experience by yourself. The photo service is a bit too tourist though, photos at Casa Botllo is better. Sometimes they have jazz concert at night too, check it
