#3 of 287 in Parks in Valencian Country
For a change of pace from the cultural sites for which this city is renowned, visit Bioparc Valencia, an innovative and eco-friendly zoo aiming to immerse its visitors into the animals’ habitats. Skillfully combining education and conservation, this park avoids the traditional enclosures and cages common to most zoos. Instead, the park’s animal inhabitants are separated from visitors by a series of rivers, ponds, streams, and rock outcroppings. This creates an impression that wild animals roam freely around you as you explore various habitats. While on your safari-like experience, remember that touching or feeding the animals is strictly forbidden. The park also has a cafe serving light snacks and refreshing drinks. Make Bioparc Valencia part of your personalized Valencia itinerary using our Valencia route planner.

  • We went at 5:30 the temperature was more comfortable and it was very quiet. I am not a big fan of zoos and some of the animals seemed a bit miserable and some parts were over crowded. Other parts were...  more »
  • we visited the biopark a few days ago,the first impact was not the best for the few indications, but inside we re-received it! we started with a show or rather a parade of animals in the amphitheatre, several birds including vultures and trained eagles flying over the heads of spectators and small animals like porcupines walking near the stands! after that we started the tour, map in hand, between the various areas, admiring up close (not like the various zoos of Italy with the animals closed in small cages very high and little visible),monkeys, giraffes, zebras, rhinoceroses, lions, elephants, flamingos, crocodiles and special animals such as lemurs, meerkats, water-water workers... and still panthers, leopards, reptiles.despite the heat they were all clearly visible even though some poor people were lying still given the temperatures we saw a couple of snails to eat something but prices were not very low,I recommend to bring yourself something from outside, there are also soft drink dispensers. the stops of the various buses are close to the entrance and tickets can be purchased online or on the spot.there is also the classic souvenir shop (dear)... I recommend the visit especially to families with children who will come out excited as my daughter!!
