Queen's Park Savannah, Port of Spain

Must see · Park · Nature / Park
When in Port of Spain, head to Queen's Park Savannah for some rest or recreation. The vast 110 hectares (260 acres) originally served as a sugar estate; later purchased as public land, it became a park by the mid 19th century. You may barely notice, but around it circles the world's largest traffic roundabout. The wide swath of low grass sits in the city's most affluent neighborhood, surrounded by notable buildings. Have a picnic, people-watch, or join the crowd of locals who gather there to stroll, jog, hang out with family, or snack on some street food. • The North Stand was missing this year.that was the fun stand in years gone by. The grand stand was too far back from the stage and boring. Need to bring it back, better built and more fun.  more »
  • Nice oasis in the city. Drop down on the grass and lay down. Traffic around the park is busy, so there’s a lot of noice. The buildings around the park are remarkable.  more »

  • Good place to walk, jog, play, lay down and relax. Could be more cleaner and in better condition. Public restrooms looks abandoned. The surrounding areas has cafes, ice cream, restaurants and popular food sellers.
  • This beautiful roundabout is the largest in the world, don't miss your turn off or you'll be going around again : ) Lots of locals use this Savannah for exercise or just strolling. There are many vendors located at different points but all in all just beautiful
