Built on seven hills, Lisbon has experienced a renaissance in recent years, making it the cultural star of Portugal.
Dedicate the 7th (Wed) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. Spend the 10th (Sat) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. And it doesn't end there: observe the fascinating underwater world at Lisbon Oceanarium, don't miss a visit to Praca do Comercio (Terreiro do Paco), explore the historical opulence of Castelo de S. Jorge, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Mosteiro dos Jeronimos.

A mere 32 km (20 mi) from Lisbon, the coastal town of Cascais has a long history of entertaining royals.
Start off your visit on the 12th (Mon): explore the activities along Vale dos Lagos at Parque de Pena, step into the grandiose world of Castelo dos Mouros, and then admire the striking features of Park and National Palace of Pena. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: go for a walk through Cabo da Roca, explore the historical opulence of Quinta da Regaleira, then steep yourself in history at Sintra National Palace, and finally explore the striking landscape at Boca do Inferno.
