Colombia's heart and soul, Bogota has earned the nickname "Athens of South America" thanks to its abundance of universities, libraries, and lower-level schools.
Gold Museum (Museo del Oro) and Museo Botero del Banco de la Republica are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Galeria La Cometa and Parque 93. The adventure continues: wander the streets of Barrio La Candelaria, get into the urban bustle at Centro Internacional de Negocios y Exposiciones, pick up a one of a kind souvenir at El Cuchitril Second Hand Shop, and make a trip to Casa Libreria Wilborada 1047.
