The site of the continent's first Spanish colony, Cartagena retains much of its colonial flavor thanks to a World Heritage-listed old town, encircled by old walls and protected by imposing fortresses.
You'll explore and learn at NH Galeria and Nara Antique Decoraciones. San Felipe de Barajas Castle and Dantas Store are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Spend the 2nd (Tue) among aquatic life with a scuba or snorkeling tour. And it doesn't end there: steep yourself in history at Walled City of Cartagena, examine the collection at Caribe Jewelry and Emerald Museum, make a trip to Torre del Reloj, and pause for some serene contemplation at Sanctuary of Saint Peter Claver.
