Iași is the largest city in eastern Romania and the seat of Iași County. Kick off your visit on the 9th (Wed): step into the grandiose world of Palace of Culture, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Saint Nicholas Church, then take a stroll through Iasi Historical Town, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at St. Sabbas the Sanctified. On your second day here, take in the spiritual surroundings of Golia Monastery, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Sinagoga Mare din Iasi, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Cetatuia Monastery, then admire the striking features of Metropolitan Cathedral, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Church of the Three Hierarchs.

Porto, Portugal to Iasi is an approximately 11-hour flight. You can also drive. The time zone changes from Western European Time to Eastern European Time, which is usually a 2 hour difference. You can do a combination of flight and shuttle from Iasi to Bucharest in 3 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a train. Expect a daytime high around 20°C in October, and nighttime lows around 6°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 14th (Mon) early enough to catch the train to Brasov.

Sighisoara

As a World Heritage Site, Sighisoara is visited mostly for its fortified Old Town surrounded entirely by city walls.
Your day-by-day itinerary now includes Church on the Hill as well as Torture Museum. On the 17th (Thu), get to know the fascinating history of Sighisoara Historic Center, pause for some serene contemplation at Church on the Hill, then examine the collection at Torture Museum, then make a trip to Clock Tower, and finally take in the views from Scara Acoperita-Covered Stairway.

Start off your visit on the 18th (Fri): wander the streets of The Lower Town of Sibiu (orasul de jos), make a trip to Bridge of Lies, then contemplate the long history of Passage of Stairs, and finally wander the streets of Old Town.
