Virtually unchanged for the last six centuries, Venice is actually a group of islands made famous by a series of canals, bridges, monuments, piazzas, and narrow pedestrian lanes.
Visit Peggy Guggenheim Collection and Doge's Palace for their historical value. Basilica di San Marco and Gallerie dell'Accademia are good opportunities to explore the local culture. There's much more to do: explore the activities along Canal Grande, take in the views from Ponte di Rialto, contemplate the long history of Ponte dei Sospiri, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Chiesa di San Zaccaria.

Curitiba, Brazil to Venice is an approximately 17-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. Traveling from Curitiba to Venice, you'll lose 4 hours due to the time zone difference. Expect a daytime high around 26°C in May, and nighttime lows around 15°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 14th (Thu) so you can travel to Geneva.

In many ways the most modern of Italian cities, Milan is a busy, elegant metropolis with an impressive list of grand palaces, fine churches, and important museums.
On the 16th (Sat), admire the masterpieces at Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Duomo di Milano, and then step into the grandiose world of Castello Sforzesco.
